We’re excited to welcome back Kinjal, our newest Medical Information Specialist at Pill Clarity. With around four years of healthcare experience and a background in dentistry, pharmacovigilance, and clinical research, she brings both clinical expertise and attention to detail to our team.
Fun fact: Kinjal was part of our Medical Information team in 2024 but took a short break to celebrate her marriage and move.
We’re thrilled to have her back contributing to our mission of delivering clear, accurate, and transparent medical information.
Why did you join the Pill Clarity team?
About a year ago, I had the opportunity to work with Pill Clarity for a few months,
assisting with a few back-end administrative tasks. During that time, I gained a
deeper understanding of the impactful work the organization was doing and learned
more about alpha-gal syndrome. Being even a small part of an initiative that made a tangible
difference was incredibly rewarding. Coming from a healthcare background, my
motivation has always been rooted in helping others, so contributing to this mission
felt like a natural fit.
What is your favorite animal-free product?
My favorite animal-free products is the Love Beauty & Planet shampoo and conditioner, which I’ve been using for several months and absolutely love. I’m also a big fan of the Neemli Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin C serum. As someone who’s very interested in skincare, I really appreciate having high-quality, animal-free options available.
Another favorite of mine is the Rael Miracle Clear Exfoliating Cleanser. Knowing it’s been verified through Pill Clarity’s certification process gives me extra confidence that what I’m using is truly animal-free and meets the same standards I look for in my everyday routine.
What was the most shocking thing you discovered about the pharmaceutical industry when you started working here?
There are several I can think of, but the most surprising one has been realizing how many manufacturers lack clarity about the ingredients in their medications and what qualifies as an animal-derived product. Responses are often incomplete or significantly delayed, sometimes even by months, which shows just how inconsistent the current system is. Pill Clarity’s Report on Discrepancies in Pharmaceutical Ingredient Transparency really puts this into perspective and highlights why change isn’t just needed but long overdue.
What was your favorite Pill Clarity project or initiative you've worked on so far?

Working in medical information has been one of the most fulfilling and rewarding experiences of my career. Every month, our team responds to between 800 and 1,000 inquiries from patients and healthcare professionals seeking clarity about medication ingredients. Having the opportunity to communicate directly with individuals, listen to their stories and challenges, and provide meaningful support has been truly inspiring. This work offers invaluable insight into the real-world issues people face every day and underscores the significant gaps that still need to be addressed.
What do you like to do for fun?
I love traveling and discovering new places with my husband—it’s our favorite way to unwind and make memories. I’m also a huge movie buff and never say no to a good weekend binge session. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I enjoy exploring new cafés and restaurants and trying different cuisines whenever I get the chance.
